CanAge has endorsed an Open Letter written by the Income Security Advocacy Centre (ISAC) urging the federal government to reinstate lost GIS (Guaranteed Income Supplement) for low income seniors as a result of claiming CERB.

Organizations were asked to endorse the letter by Thursday, Oct 21st, signaling their support of this urgent call to action.

CanAge has been working on this issue and recently wrote to the federal government asking for GIS to be based on pre-CERB tax years. We also created a template letter for members of the public to use when writing to their MP.

If you have any questions about this Open Letter, please contact Claudia Calabro, ISAC Communications Specialist and Organizer, at calabrc@lao.on.ca.
