CanAge wrote to several of the newly appointed federal Ministers to offer our support in their work to benefit older Canadians. We received back the following response from the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Minister Champagne and other members of the federal Cabinet as we move forward together into 2022!
Dear Ms. Tamblyn Watts and Ms. Cable:
Thank you for your kind words on my reappointment as Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry. I am honoured that the Prime Minister has continued to trust me with the responsibility of this important role, particularly at a time when we, as Canadians, are facing the challenge of recovering from a global pandemic.
As we work towards a strong economic recovery, it is vital that we create opportunities that will ensure long‑term competitiveness and growth, create jobs, and secure and diversify our supply chains. I will work to find solutions that are rooted in science and evidence‑based research and prioritize investments in Canadian workers and industries.
Undoubtedly, the economy of the 21st century will continue growing greener, and leveraging this will help transform our climate objectives into opportunities for workers, businesses, and growth for generations to come. I look forward to continuing to work with colleagues and stakeholders across Canada to meet the challenges of the recovery and of building back better for Canadians. Once again, thank you for writing, and please accept my best wishes. Sincerely,
The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, P.C., M.P.
