VOICES of Canada's Seniors:

A Roadmap to an Age-Inclusive Canada

In August of 2020 CanAge released its first publication VOICES of Canada’s Seniors: A Roadmap to an Age-Inclusive Canada. Under letter ‘I’ Infection Prevention and Disaster Response we outlined 3 issues and 11 recommendations regarding vaccines. Issues and recommendations are listed below for your reference. This analysis in VOICES forms the basis for the Adult Vaccination in Canada: Cross Country Report Card in 2021.

I - Infection Prevention and Disaster Response

Issue #16:  Vaccine Uptake and Reform

(with recommendations #52 to #56)

Issue #17:  Prioritize Adult Vaccination During COVID-19

(with recommendations #57 to #59)

Issue #18:  Adult Vaccine Schedule and Uptake Tracking

(with recommendations #60 to #62)

We encourage you to review VOICES here.

Vaccine-preventable diseases - flu, viral pneumonia and shingles, can be managed successfully by getting vaccinated. If you have not received one or any of the vaccines outlined in this report, please contact your healthcare provider to determine if you should receive the vaccine.

If you reside in a jurisdiction where the cost of the vaccine is not paid for by the government, or you have other concerns about vaccine coverage and accessibility and would like to make your voice heard, please download this letter template so that you may write to your elected provincial or territorial politician.
