Health Standards Organization (HSO) is asking for members of the public to give their feedback on its National Long-Term Care Services Standard. This standard would see the creation of national guidelines to provide safe, reliable, and high-quality care for residents in long-term care.
You can give your feedback by completing a workbook, which can be downloaded at the link below.
CanAge is hard at work advocating for drastic improvements in both resident care and infection prevention and control (IPAC), including with our CEO Laura sitting on the federal working group creating national standards for IPAC. We’re also planning to host another public consultation with HSO in support of this Services Standard in the near future.
We also recently held a public consultation on IPAC in long-term care, bringing together our members with field experts to brainstorm ways to protect vulnerable residents from outdated facilities, poor cleaning practices and other environmental issues that promote the spread of infections diseases.
