Rates of dementia are increasing rapidly in Canada as our population ages. Unfortunately, just as common are false facts and misunderstandings about dementia–what it is, how to prevent it and how to best care for someone experiencing memory loss and other symptoms.

This year, we’re kicking off an awareness campaign to better educate people on dementia and break the stigma surrounding this common family of disorders.

First, we’re publishing a series of educational resources you can use to learn the facts and challenge your assumptions about dementia.

Next, we’ll be releasing our first-ever report on dementia care in Canada. Where are the gaps, which parts of Canada are doing better than others and what can be done to better support caregivers and people living with cognitive decline? All this and more will be answered in this groundbreaking report coming in October!
